Kushiyu in Tarzana

Having recently recommended this place on the board it gave me a yen, (groan) for their food. Drove over to the Valley yesterday and met a friend for a sushi feast.

They have a signature dish which is their spicy tuna, avocado hash on toasted rice squares. This is addictive and wonderful.

They also have the best tempura hand rolls I have had anywhere, mostly because their tempura batter is so light and their shrimp is fantastically fresh. They also have wonderful nori that doesn't stick to your lips or practically need a knife to saw through it like some places.

I always get at least one order of hamachi, and they also have the single best cooked skewers of Chilean sea bass, (yeah, it's endangered, and rightly so seeing how damn tasty it is). We also had spicy scallop hand rolls and some sweet shrimp and toro and at the end two more of the tempura hand rolls and two more Chilean sea bass orders. Tab was $88, plus tip.
