As a longtime sushi fanatic and devotee, I've eaten at most of the better New York City sushi houses. My favorite to date, hands down, is Kuruma Zushi, although I do admit to being staggered every time I get my check.
Among the better places I've yet to visit is Sushi Yasuda which I find has as ardent a group of followers as any sushi restaurant I've ever known about.
My question for those who've tried both -
Given one chance to show off sushi at its finest to a novice sushi eater, which one would you choose . . . and why?
I'm planning to visit the city this weekend and I guess I'm looking for a few good reasons to break my Kuruma habit, if in fact I should. I know I need to try Sushi Yasuda sooner or later but with the cost so high, it's hard to take chances.
I'd appreciate any and all commentary.
