Now here's something you don't come across everyday.
All-day Chinese breakfast in Midtown!
Came here to try their hand-pulled "ramen" after reading about them in Grubstreet (here: http://www.grubstreet.com/2014/01/kun... ) and lo and behold, I find out that they have Chinese soy milk and crullers (yiou-tiao), as well as scallion pancakes. All day.
Only sweet soy milk for now -- both cold and hot. I got hot. The crullers were good -- crunchy, warm, and crisp. The salty soy milk (or doa-hwao) is not available currently.
Not haute cuisine, and probably not better than the stuff one can just stumble across in Chinatown, but for the location, it's a sweet deal.
Oh, and the noodles? Good, but the broth was nothing to get excited over.
Did not try the XLB. They looked good enough, and the veggie ones make the Hulk look a bit pale.
