Kuala Lumpur - restaurant and wine. Help!

Asomaniac | Oct 29, 201510:03 AM     2

I have been in KL for a few days with work and tomorrow night can finally explore the food scene a bit (leaving on Saturday morning). I would be very interesting in a restaurant where I can try excellent Malaysian food (either traditional or a modern take - I'd probably prefer the latter simply because I have never had it). I would also be open to other cuisines if there is something very interesting / unusual / excellent you would recommend (though don't want high end European or Japanese (I live in Tokyo)). Price is irrelevant - either high end or cheap or anything in between is great, as long as the food is good (and they cater for solo diners).

Separately, I am wondering if there is any place that does wine at prices that are not extortionate, preferably a place that offers some interesting wines (maybe from unusual regions) at humane prices. The wine lists I have seen here were very overpriced (making Tokyo look cheap) and features very boring choices of the usual suspects (famous producers from the more high profile regions or France and Italy, etc.). Then again, I have not had any opportunity to explore or choose the restaurant.

Thank you very much in advance!
