Neroteca stood out from other Italian restaurants in KL simply because ... its food contained pork! Yup, in a city with mainly halal (i.e. suitable for Muslims) Italian restaurants, Italian foodlovers who also missed their pork made a beeline here.
We were here last weekend after lunch for its selection of rich Italian desserts and some of the best coffee in town.
Not cheap though: each of the smallish desserts we ordered: the Tiramisu, Trio al cioccolato (three-layered dark chocolate cake); Panna Cotta and the Torta Della Nonna (Grandmother's ricotta cheese cake) costed an eye-popping RM22 (USD7) each. The desserts were good, though not great.
Need to come back here for their entrees next time. Some interesting items included:
- Porcellino- Crispy skin slow roasted suckling pig served with stew lentils, garden salad and roasted potatoes; and
- Porchetta- Roasted debone suckling pig stuffed with sausage, capsicum and bacon served with stew lentils, roasted potatoes.
Watch this space ;-)
