I had one of the tastiest fish-head soup today - the pieces of fried fish-head and whole freshwater prawn came in a milky soup redolent of Chinese wine, ginger, shallots, salted vegetables, tomatoes, and various ingredients used to obtain the delicious broth. The milky color, so I'm told, came from the addition of evaporated milk.
The cafe's named after owner-chef, Kwa Win Soon, son of the guy who owned the fish-head noodles stall in Taman OUG, off Old Klang Road. The prodigal son had obviously learnt well.
Other sides at the restaurant which we had - tiny little pods of Muar-style otak-otak (drier and harder than mousse-like Nyonya otak-otak) wrapped in pandan leaves; and the deep-fried fishcakes were unremarkable. Stick to what they do best here: the fish-head soup, with or without the rice noodles.
