Kuala Lumpur - The MOST colorful cake in the world!

I came across Sue's Sarawak layer cake from her promotional booth at Great Eastern Mall in Jalan Ampang last weekend. The cake was insanely colorful and, I'm told, atypical of the layer cakes coming out from Sarawak, Malaysia's state in Borneo.

Tastewise, it's a close variant of the Indonesian baked layer cake (or Speckoek Kueh Lapis Batavia), i.e. very sweet & egg-and-butter-rich.

Still, I thought the effort that went into making one of these dazzling cakes was simply amazing! They had many variants to the patterns & the colors used, though each cake was pretty expensive due to the effort & premium ingredients used.
