Two of us tried Krungthai Restaurant in SJ. They have 2 locations and we tried the one at 642 S. Winchester Blvd, SJ on Sun 10/10/04 lunch.
We had #13 Tom Kha Gai. A small $6.59 is enough for 3-4 people. Lots of flavor, spicy & sour soup w/ chicken, mushrooms, galanga, & Thai spices mixed w/ coconut milk. Good.
Salads #27 Special Krungthai Salad. Silver noodles w/ ground pork, squid, prawns, Thai spices, & black fungus "cloud ears." $8.59. Good, but would try something else next time.
Noodles #43 Jun Pad Poo. pan fried Thai rice noodles w/ crab meat, egg, chili, & garlic. $7.59 I asked for spicy (don't think I got it) and extra garlic. Lots of garlic. Yummy. Don't miss. $7.59
Thai curries #119. Keaw Wan Pla Muek. Calamari stuffed w/ ground pork in green curry, Thai eggplant, & mixed w/ coconut milk. $11.59
Very creamy, very interested eggplant-kinda of looks like a mini apple w/ lots of crunchy seeds. Calamari stuffed w/ ground pork-different. Ben loved the dish.
Steamed Rice per person $1.00
Total before tip $38.28
I recommend the place.
