Kroger did a major reset of the produce departments in my mid-west region (the Cincinnati buying area) and now it is just the grimmest place to shop for fruits and vegetables. They have taken a leaf from the dismal retail practice of narrow but deep merchandising. In other words "we are not going to offer you a lot of selection, but what there will be is a lot of what we offer. It is driving me to shop at an Indiana chain or the local co-op. Have any of you who also shop Kroger noticed this in your area? It used to be that I could count on them for the best variety and selection and that is no longer the case. Is is just Kroger or other big chains going this way too and offering a lot of convenience packaged produce and very little in bulk or loose fruits and veg?
