A few people had remarked recently on the apparent decline at the Kotobukiya sushi bar in the Porter Exchange, manifest in erratic quality and shrinking portions.
I don't know whether these comments got back to them or not, but I dropped in for lunch yesterday, and if my meal was indicative, they've made attentive amends. A spicy tuna roll was excellent, with big chunks of fresh tuna and cucumber and not too much mayo. Mackerel was eye-opening, salmon was pleasing, tuna was good, yellowfin was fine. Quality seemed uniformly assured, portions were big enough to make the prices seem good again.
I was pleased.
