Kosta's Greek Restaurant

Anne Emry | Nov 10, 200003:43 PM

I just had lunch at Kosta's, a Greek restaurant on 25th Street in San Mateo. I've been there a few times especially for the veggie gyros. My partner can't get beyond the great hamburgers, but they have a full menu of Greek specialties that I consider inexpensive (meal for two under thirty dollars without alcohol.) I heard the chef talking (to himself?) in the kitchen -- "There's a beautiful fresh soup! That hamburger has everything, it doesn't get any better." This is in the old part of San Mateo, and there are always more empty tables than full ones. I'd hate to lose this place where warm, genuine people put fresh, quality food on the table and don't charge a ton. Try it and see what you think. I have no affiliation with the place, I just don't want it to be overlooked by people who might appreciate it.
