We're entertaining dinner guests for this weekend who keep kosher. We don't--nor would we have any idea where to begin--but they have accepted our invitation and only asked that we not mix meat and milk.
I know kashrut involves a LOT more than this, but this is their only stipulation.
Ok. So...Beef Bourguignon (minus any bacon) is ok; Chicken Cacciatore is ok (but no parmesan cheese?)... Is butter out?
Or should I just skip meat entirely and do pasta and dairy?
Can I use puff pastry to make starters, or does that involve milk?
As for a parve dessert...any recommendations?
We want them to feel welcome and at ease.
Thanks for your help!
