I work for a large Meals on Wheels operation on the East Coast and Im trying to find out about Kosher beef and BSE or Mad Cow disease. I have removed Beef from our menus until I can find a safe and affordable beef supply. I would appreciate any information, as well as answers to the following questions.
Is Kosher beef processed in way that can be said to decrease the chance of Mad Cow disease?
Are Kosher beef fed remains or blood, of other rudiments, or other animals?
Other than slitting the throat of the animal, what other steps are taken during the slaughter process, to prevent cross-contamination of the brain and spinal cord matter and fluids with the muscle meat?
