Longtime lurker, first-time poster here.
A close relative will be getting married in NYC (Manhattan) next month, and the food at the wedding will not be kosher. The relative has graciously agreed to let us find a kosher caterer or restaurant that will provide double-wrapped food that can be heated up for my family at the venue, as long as they can provide a certificate of insurance (is that standard?).
The wedding will be extremely high-class and money is not an issue, so we are looking for a place that will provide delicious food and classy presentation. I've found somewhat similar threads on here from many years ago that mention Lou G Siegel's, Abigael's, and Le Marais, all of whom I've spoken with.
Even though we like eating at Le Marais, they won't deliver many of their menu items that they say don't travel well, which leaves the first 2. Abigael's is also solid and decent, though their special menu for occasions like this doesn't really excite us. Lou G Siegel's seems good, but I'm nervous because I have no personal experience with them and would love to hear from somebody with firsthand experience with their food and service.
Does anybody have any experience using any of these places for a similar situation, or do you have any other recommendations for places you've used for something like this? Thanks!
