korean potato sticks

i've been meaning to post about this for a while. there's a korean commercial snack called gu-un gamja (literally, "baked potato") that i feast on whenever i go back to seoul. for a while i've seen it sold at han ah reum (the korean market on 32nd st) and also at woorijip (the cafeteria-style place on the same block). they're long, skinny, salty sticks that are packed with potato flavor - more so than any other potato snack that i've had, all chips included. they're also dense, chompy, delicious.

at han ah reum they're usually sold in very tall red cylindrical containers. there's a drawing of a bursting baked potato on the package, which contains four mini-packs of sticks. they sell for $3.49/container. if you like potato snacks, i really recommend that you try these.
