i am at this very moment enjoying my takeout lunch from sushi okdol. i've avoided it until today because i assumed it was some skeevy sushi place. but i checked out the menu today and saw that it was a korean place, too. i ordered kim chi jigae which is a kimchi and pork stew. i became particularly excited about my meal when the korean man tried to discourage me from ordering it, suggesting it would be too spicy for me. i really don't know much about korean cuisine, but for $6.50 i got a ginormous container of soup, an order of rice and a whole styrofoam platter of condiments, the only one of which i could identify was the kimchi. there was also a pickled onion and zucchini thing, bean sprouts and something else totally unidentifiable but very tasty. pail cubes of something with sesame seeds. anyway, the kim chi jigae is delicious and indeed very spicy and includes very good tofu, some pork that was fine but not as tender as it might have been, as well as noodles, kimchi and a sliced sort of dumpling thing. i would love to hear about other people's experiences there, whether other dishes are good, etc.. this seems to be primarily a korean joint, despite the sushi. i would personally think 2x about ordering raw fish from them.
