Dear Fellow Hounds,
One of my favorite kinds of food is Korean. I love it all, meat dishes, noodle dishes, the panchan, etc. One thing I am tired of is being treated as a second class citizen if I am not Korean. When I am at The Seoul Hot Pot and a table of Koreans come in shortly thereafter, you can bet they will get their food first. The whopper of it is that I KNOW the owners and have been going there for years! The other night I went to the Korea House and ordered Ja-Jhang Mien while my wife ordered Bibimbop. ANYWAY, the server brings out four lousy side dishes and I ask her why so few and she looks me right in the eye and says "with Ja-jhang Mien" or Bibimbop we only serve this many. She then proceeded to not check on us or ask if we needed anything else, etc. Fruit or soup with meal? Forget it. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW I am not at the Ritz or Lola, but please. I am further pissed that I was made to feel like some sorta cheap freak, especially when I usually order jaeyook bokum or Khalbi. But hey, that dish of noodles and beans is still 9$! She made it sound like I ordered broth and some Waverly Wafers. *rrrr..........*
Okay, so can anybody recommend some other Korean joints in Cleveland and/or a chinese-korean place where I can get my beloved Jah-jhang Mien?
Thanks for letting me vent!
