Koi Palace for graduation party

Can | Apr 24, 200201:58 PM     5

I've already done a search for Koi Palace to see what we should/shouldn't order for a graduation party in a few weeks. It seems that the general consensus is that KP's quality has gone down recently. However, this was still referred to our graduate as a good place for dinner so I need to solicit some help from you all.

Our family is coming from L.A. for our sister's graduation, so we're pretty familiar with good Chinese fare (we live in the San Gabriel Valley). My sister wants to set the menu beforehand since it'll be pretty crowded during that weekend with graduation parties. I've perused all the posts and this is what I came up with:

Honey smoked sea bass/smoked black cod
Lobster with vermicelli
Suckling pig
Steamed live LA shrimp
Oysters in clay pot
Peking duck
Clay pot beef short ribs in pepper sauce

It sounds like KP has been hit and miss lately and given that this is a busy weekend service and quality may be mediocre. Is this a good start on the menu or is there anything we should avoid altogether? We probably will deviate from this menu but I just wanted to get a feel of their "signature" dishes.

Thanks in advance for your help.
