My god, I just had dim sum here today. The line / wait was incredible. Elbow to elbow. I estimate people had to wait at least an hour. We did not have to wait long cause we had someone get a number early. I've been here for over 10 years but only go a few times a year. My aunt said she'll treat us, so all 20 of us relatives, family, kids, etc. showed up, haha.
I am going to state what most of you know already know--It was busy, it was frantic, and too many people. But to Koi's credit, they employed enough people so service was smooth and fast. They refilled the tea each time quickly. When we asked for napkins, or hot sauce, they go it for us, no problem. When they saw empty plates, they took it away. Food arrived just as fast, and the selection can not be beat.
There was a table with 2 white guys and girls enjoying their meal--they made one mistake though (imho). They ordered and ate too fast--they finished in less than 20 minutes (well of course, they could be in a rush). LOL.
The bill came to about $350 include tips, so about $18 per person. Not bad at all. Did I find the dim sum to be the best? Good to very good. But the selection was excellent. I did not find anything that really stood out to the point where I was in ecstasy. At the same time because there were so many people chowing down, the food did not come out quite piping hot. Some items were just lukewarm.
