got a chance to try out the new Lobster Roll specialist in Silver Lake, "Lobster and Claw".
it's a tiny little space along Sunset (near Night + Market Song). we tried out 3 of their main items, starting out with the Blue Crab Roll (not sushi, lol).
the bread was nicely toasted and warm. The Blue Crab meat itself was heavy on the mayo, and didn't taste very fresh; a bit too fishy, but it wasn't bad.
their Maine Shrimp Roll was something i haven't seen around LA before. This was so good! really fresh, lightly sweet (naturally from the shrimp). it was served with some butter and mayo combo. def would order it again.
and then their main specialty, their Lobster Roll. This one was unique because it was served like a mix of both the traditional cold version with mayo, and the warm version with butter.
At Knuckle and Claw, they served theirs with cold lobster claw meat and some mayo, on a toasted roll, with some warm butter layered on top.
It was tasty, but... strange? the lobster was fine, soft, not overcooked, and fresh tasting. the mix of the cold mayo and warm butter and cold lobster meat took some getting used to.
overall, i think my fav is still Connie & Ted's and Lobsta Truck. but if i was around this area i'd definitely go back.
