Wondering if anyone out there can help me with the origins of these dishes and their names?
Kitchuri (sp?) is a lentil and rice porridge found on the Indian subcontinent (at least in Bangladesh, and I think India as well).
Koshori (sp?) is a lentil and noodle dish with fried onions and tomato sauce that I ate often in Cairo.
I'm curious whether these two dishes share a common origin, and whether the names are derived from "Kosher."
Any help would be appreciated.
