Kitchenaid Tilt-Head Mixer Trouble

walker | Mar 8, 201908:30 PM

My mixer is about 48 years old (lightly used), and has not been any trouble until recently.

I was using the dough hook and suddenly the bowl jumped out of the holder and I had to hurry up and cut the machine off. Some of the white was scraped off the mixer. Another time, I was using the paddle to mix up meatloaf in it and the same thing happened. Final time, I was using the paddle just to mix up a pound cake and again it jumped out of the holder.

I was using the metal bowl with a handle I bought about 10 years ago. To finish the cake, I got out the original bowl and didn't have any problem with that but I really prefer the handle one.

I called Kitchenaid and they are sending me that bottom plate with 3 Phillips screws to see if that got bent. I'm wondering if my bowl with the handle might have gotten bent, too and maybe I should buy a new one.

Has anyone else had this problem?
