Kitchenaid Mixer Attachments: Are they good substitutes for real thing?

BonBon79 | Jan 2, 201507:46 PM     27

Hi everyone,
My Dad and stepmother gave my new fiance and I a Kitchenaid mixer for an engagement present. I'm ecstatic to finally have one! Some questions:
1) Can the food processing attachment sufficiently take the place of a separate food processor like a Cuisinart or Breville?
2) Can an attachment suffice for a mandolin?
3) Will I still need a hand mixer and/or immersion mixer? I'm thinking an immersion one would still be helpful for making soups in pots though.
