It appears that Kitchenaid did a deal with Demeyere in 2013 and licensed a version of the Demeyere Atlantis product line - very slightly altered - as the Kitchenaid 7-ply Stainless series. Has anyone tried the Kitchenaid version, and what is your feedback? How do they differ compared to Demeyere Atlantis?
One obvious difference is the dimensions of the frying pans. The Kitchenaid frying pans are 8 and 10 inches, and neither has a helper handle.
Apparently, Kitchenaid discontinued the product? I don't find the 7-ply product on the Kitchenaid website currently. That's not too surprising since Kitchenaid as a brand is probably not something a person buying high-end cookware would think of. If you are going to pay these kinds of prices, you probably want the snob value of a "Demeyere" logo on the cookware, not "Kitchenaid".
One thing I noticed on the Kitchenaid product is that I can only find a 10 piece set. I don't see the individual pieces on sale anywhere. Has anyone found them being sold as separates? I want the stockpot only. I already have the Demeyere frying pans. If you are interested in buying this set - minus the stockpot - let me know and maybe we can cut a deal. I buy the set and you take the remaining pieces.
