well, i finally made it to the highly touted kitchen market, and i must say i was extremely dissapointed. i ordered the chicken burrito (sf style, i guess) and it was very ordinary. bland rice and beans, stringy chicken, and steamed tortilla. i should have added guacamole, but for 1.75 extra? that's pretty steep especially since the burrito is 7.75, which is no bargain (for the amount of meat i got). because of the lack of flavor, i asked for some hot sauce, and they gave me something that resembled pace salsa. if this is the best burrito in new york, then that is a sad statement. i hate to say it, but it is not even as good as chipotle. in fact, this place would not stay in business in any other city.
for a 'real' burrito, cross the river and go to baja fresh where they grill the tortilla and the meat. and the salsa actually has flavor.
i don't mean to be harsh, but i'm just calling it like it is. anyone out there who's had a real burrito knows that i am speaking the truth.
