just got back to this joint. i always pass it while driving up or down Pico Blvd., but never took the initiative to stop before. Today I made a point of it. For the uninitiated, Kitchen n' Joy is a basic hamburger/pastrami/mexican/asian food/all around greasy spoon. Though in a highly delicious way. Grease can sometimes be good and it is at Kitchen n Joy. I tried the pastrami sandwich, served the traditional greasy way as in fried up the griddle to a crisp. With lots of crisp burnt pieces, I find the small burnt pieces to be almost like little gems. Anyways, they serve it up in a roll complete w/' the usual pickles, onions, and mustard. Pickles and mustard go perfectly w/ greasy fast-food pastrami. One note of caution, this is not Langer's style pastrami, to compare this to that would be like compareing apples with oranges. The interior is pretty run-down as it should be which kind of adds to the allure and the owner is quite a character. Try it out if you're in the area, in my opinion the sandwich here is better than Oki Dogs or others in the area.
