Kitchen 22 Review

Finally tried Kitchen 22 tonite attracted by the 3 course $25 meal--since I have a couple of pricey dinners ahead shortly--Aureole, Strip House and A Voce.

It was ok to fine. Pleasant enough staff, way too noisy (high ceilings). My main course of a crispy skin salmon was outstanding--perfectly medium rare with cabbage. The starter was a way too salty beef carpaccio--adding in the parmesean and anchoivies was way over the top. Dessert was a mess of ingredients--chocolate mousse, napolean layers and whipped cream alongside cherries--that just didn't "gel". In addition, cookies served that were non descript.

If I had just eaten ala carte--you can-- and ordered the salmon for about $17, it would have been a great meal. The other courses "weighed" the meal down.

Would I return?--if I saw something delicious on the menu as I walked by. And then, only the entree course.
