Well all my friends who've been have said that the food is so so and the service was worse. Sooo anyway we decided to try it last night.

The place is great looking - lofty, large. It was packed and extremely noisy. There's no carpet or anything to absorb any noise at all. so the ambiance is very noisy and tinny sounding.

We got this little nook which was great but we couldnt hear each other talk. We got our wine lists - yawn. The middle of the road stuff ($40) were things like Ravenswood and a Siduri Pinot noir from ORegon (HORRIBLE). We got out wines but didn't get any menus for about half an hour. We had to ask. Then we had to ask to order appetizers - short braised ribs on a white bean puree (delish and succulent); quail stuffed with cornbread and lingonberries (nice but the quail was under done, skin was not roasted); portabello and haricot vert fries in ponzu dipping sauce (batter was too thick though i liked the flavors).

For entrees - we got Cocoa cola braised pork carnitas. I thought they were good. had a little bit of fat in it so it melted in my mouth. One of our friends had the same thing but it was dry as anything and burnt!

I got a duck breast which was nicely executed and my other friend had a very ordinary Halibut. she said she could have done it herself in the oven.

Basically you get a main dish and you add sides to it for $6. But they put the entrees on these tiny little appetizer plates so there's no room to add your side to your plate. They were sposed to put the small dish onto a large charger dish but only one of us got that. Also you choose your own sauce to go with the main dishes but ours never arrived. So we had to wait again and ask for it.

There was sposed to be an amuse bouche but we never received it.

Desserts - i got a midnight cake - DRY angelfood cake with valhorana chocolate. Could have given it a miss. My friends got a sundae which was a tiny little chunk of brownie with one tiny scoop of ice cream. WHen it arrived in it's tiny little cup, i actually thought it was a 'side' to my cake!!! For $7 each? save your money!!!
