My brother (visiting from Boston) and I went to Kiriko for the first time on Sat. night for omakase. I was a bit nervous, having read several recent posts complaining about the service, attitude, treatment of non-regulars, etc.
I needn't have worried. The place was packed, but we had reserved seats at the bar. The staff was friendly and professional. The chef could not have been nicer, and clearly relished the opportunity to show my brother a great LA omakase experience. The meal was paced well (we felt neither ignored nor rushed). The fish was fresh and perfect, as were the cooked items (including an unbelievably good shitake stuffed crab dish). At $80 a person it wasn't cheap, but it was well worth it. I'd go back in a second. Don't be put off by the negative posts.
