I posted a few weeks ago about organizing a formal King Jamaican Watch to see if we could find out when this place was open. I was driving to Noe Valley from Russian Hill tonight, and while I usually go Gough to Valencia, I decided I felt lucky and hung a ralph on Fulton. The lights were on.
I didn't have time to dine there tonight, but a very un-Jamaican (blonde, accent was Scandinavian maybe)waitress told me they are open Wed-Sun 4-9:30. When I betrayed skepticism about those hours, she assured me that they were real. On the business card, the old hours, Wed-Sun 4-9pm, were crossed out, and these new ones written in. The inside is colorful with murals on the walls of plants and birds, and a mirror makes the place look bigger, until you realize it's a mirror.
I took a menu, but left it in my car, which is now in the shop. I remember that the oxtail was 18.95, though most other main dishes were around 10-12. There was also Prince Neville's Ginger Beer, and dumplings.
I'll be back sometime next weekend. Looking forward to it, and to any other posts about the place. It's on Fulton, just east of Divisidero in SF.
