The King Egg Roll Story

Ken Hoffman | Sep 20, 200204:30 PM

North San Jose ain't much to look at but tucked away in the anonymous strip malls that line the roads are gems whose success and popularity seem as arbitrary as the layout of the neighbourbhood itself.

King Egg Roll has been a bit hit for a long time, nuturing folks from in and out the area. The place always has a line out the door.

The place, which is cramped, noisy but efficient has a well rounded line-up including roast pork and ribs, steam drums filled with Dim Sum, rice paper wraps, fried chicken wings and steam buns.

But it's the egg rolls that the place is known for. Cigar sized, golden hued, thinnish wrapper with a delicate balance of minced pork and cabbage filling , these beauties have been keeping South Bay cardiologists very busy for years. Hell these things make angioplasty seem like a reasoable risk.
