What kind of foods (prepared or fresh) is Virginia known for?

Being a fairly recent transplant to central Virginia, I've been unable to detect in my local wanderings any kind of regional specialty. I mean, you've got your western and eastern types of Carolina BBQ, Chesapeake crabs, etc, but is there something in landlocked Virginia that I'm missing? Heck, even when I was living in DC we had the half-smoke. Any suggestions (beside Smithfield hams)?
