Kim Chee - still ok after 2 wks?

RWCFoodie | Aug 31, 2005 09:10 PM

I bought some fresh kim chee a couple of weeks ago that was packed by the grocery store (Mitsuwa). It's ingredients are radish (daikon), cucumber, chili, salt, garlic & "seasoning". It was in a very sturdy plastic bag. Well, when we got home I stuck it in the vegetable keeper & forgot about it until today. The plastic bag had blown up like a balloon & looked like it was going to explode! So, I put it in the sink & popped it with a poke of a knife. Dang, it sounded like an M-80 going off! I guess the "gas" was from the veggies fermenting. Do you think it's ok to eat or are we risking botulism or ??? I should probably just toss it....
