I just ate for the first time at Killdevil's in Lake Forest. I was the 2nd customer in the restaurant when they opened at 11am. My meal cost $12 (no drink). I had the bbq pork sandwich, chilli cheese fries and a small strawberry sundae with vanilla custard. I thought the sandwich was pretty good with bits of pulled pork and cole slaw falling out of the bun. It came with a side of vinegar-based North Carolina bbq sauce which I didn't think the sandwich really needed since it covers up the taste of the pork. Their "famous" killer beach fries covered with chilli, cheese and onions did not impress me at all. The fries were similar to In N Out in consistency, but a little thicker cut with a darker color to them. Not being a huge ice cream fan, I thought the vanilla custard was good. It was smooth and not so cold that you get brain freeze. To me it was okay, but others may get more satisfaction out of it.
