I have friends coming in town this Friday and I'd like to meet them for lunch either in the Village or Soho. They will have two preteen kids with them and I'll have a generally well behaved 2 year old. I had wanted Balthazar -- NYish, tourist friendly, loud enough to have a child there for lunch, good food and good french fries (my daughter is a very picky eater)but they don't have room for a reservation. I might go and see if we can get seated anyway, but it's Good Friday and Passover, not sure whether that will make it busier or slower, so I don't want to make the gamble. Any other suggestions? Like I said, looking for a cool NY spot, good food that's not too adventurous (how I hate writing that part, but I need something accessible on the menu for my daughter) that doesn't have to be Bubby's level child friendly, but that at least most likely will have a high chair and will not scowl when they see my daughter walking in.
Thanks in advance for suggestions!
