A New Kid on the Block -- Indo-Chinese

It seems that in the last few years several Indo-Chinese restaurants have been cropping up around NYC. We are all aware of Tangra Masala (both Queens and Long Island). More recently the owner of Indian City (Long Island- LIJ Area) opened up "Indian Oasis" - his version of Indo-Chinese/Thai.

The latest and most exciting newcomer is "Masala Wok" located (...again...) on Long Island. The Address: 107 Broadway HIcksville (516) 932-1999.

I have tried all of these restaurants (and several in the Chicagoland and Orlando regions) and I must state that Masala Wok is a serious contender for the best Indo-Chinese restaurant in NY.

Tangra Masala deserves due credit for their excellent Lollipop Chicken creation - Masala Wok adds a new twist to this (?now old) dish and calls them "Drums of Heaven).

I highly recommend their Hakka dishes -- Lamb and Chicken. Their version of Chicken Manchurian is, however, dissappointingly not as good as Tangra Masala (Queens -- the original). Their soups are also very good -- it's been a long time since I had good Chicken Corn Soup.

Masala Wok also has a few Indo-Thai items. If you love spice -- this place is for you. Do let me know what you think. Open everyday except Tues. The meat is halal (for those of you strict in this regard). The ambience is much better than the Tangra Masalas -- very tasteful.
