Quick trip from Boston to K. starting with a stop at Justin's in Seabrook NH (I think) where I went a few years ago. Hard to pass up a $5 lobster roll and it's quite decent. Maybe you'd like to see more chunks but it's tasty on a well grilled roll so no complaints. Kitschy decorations, cash only. That was my breakfast lobster roll, lunch was a hot one at the Ocean Roll truck right on Rt. 1 in Kennebunk. $16 got you the roll with good cole slaw (cash only). Super nice people, cute little picnic bench area, only complaint was that the roll was over buttered (and I love a buttered/grilled roll), it was kind of too much with the buttery lobster. Went into insanely touristy Kennebunkport Sun. evening and had a nice white sangria on the deck of the Arundel Inn. Was tempted by the Pilot House and its total local look, also liked the look of the bar at Hurricane's but walked down to Mabel's who had too long a wait, so drove a few miles to the Ramp Bar & Grill. Pretty views at the ocean, very nice bartender and decent crab cakes with greens ($16). Their fried clam plate looked excellent ($22) but no way I could do justice to that, nor the tempting blueberry crumble dessert. Photos of the Bushes behind the bar. Mon. I grabbed a scone at Cherie's who had great looking prepared food and sandwiches and started the drive down Rt. 1 stopping at Capt. Hook's in Wells (I think) for a bkfst/lunch of a fried clam roll w/ cole slaw (rather than fries) for $13. Lots of clams, good peppery slaw, pretty good prices in comparison. Last stop was Downriver Ice Cream in Rowley by the Agawam Diner. Had never noticed this place, super cute seating with lots of Adirondack chairs, bird feeders, etc. Be forewarned, a baby cone ($4) is not baby and served in a bigger waffle cone, way too much if you're really looking for just a taste.
