Kellari Taverna - short review

G3B | Apr 21, 2008 08:10 AM

We had the 3-course pre-theater dinner at Kellari Taverna yesterday. It was a good deal for what we had. I had the roasted beets, with almond garlic mousse and greens for an app, lavraki (Mediterranean sea bass) with capers and steamed greens, and custard wrapped with phyllo dough. It was all fine, but not memorable. Service was extremely slow even though it was not busy at all.

We looked at the menu for Saju and my friend was not crazy about it so we ended up across the street at Kellari by default.

Thanks to everyone for all their responses to my Theater District Request. I am probably going to Junior next weekend since I need to be close to theater, unless someone has a better suggestion. I need to be no more than 2 blocks away on the west side of Broadway and 45th Street. Have been to John’s Pizza, Angus McIndoe and Haru, would love to try something different if possible.
