keeping shellfish

I feel like I should know this, but I usually eat whatever shellfish I buy the same day. I have some clams that I may want to put off cooking for a couple of days. Right now they are wrapped in paper, in the fridge. Is there a better way to keep them fresh and alive until Monday?
