Thanx chowhounds for the tipoff on this fantastic place. Six of us from work had a great lunch today. It was just like having our Indian mother cooking for us -- if we were Indian, that is.
The pumpkin kibby-like dish was fantastic (cornmeal?), the samosas were very creamy inside, with the sweetness of cinnamon and perhaps cardamon? Not sure, but yum. Great heat on several dishes - one tandoor chicken and one more like chicken vindaloo? Excellent saag with potatoes. An incendiary green bean dish that I never got to. Food just so much more lively and fresh than any of the Moody Street Indian joints.
Note that it's halal (like kosher for Muslims). $5.95 for all you can eat. However, the samosas and other pastries to the side do cost extra. We also very much enjoyed the masala tea.
