I've been hankering for an Aussie meat pie, but none to be had, so I went here today. I was worried that the pies would be like Tom's--tough crust, and too good for you--and I think it is the same owner--but these pies beat Tom's by a mile. I had the Basque Beef & the Spicy Eggplant with Olives & Tomatoes, with a side of HP sauce for the beef pie.
Both were great, especially the spicy eggplant pie.The meat pie was nicely spicy too and the meat was soft. It also had potatoes in it which I could have done without. Not an Aussie style pie, but quite good nonetheless. Although the crust was whole wheat it was reasonably tender & definitely edible. 2 pies ($5.75) made a meal for me but I could see someone with a larger appetite needing 3 or 2 & soup or salad. I'd go again. They have a spicy clam & tomato pie that intrigues me.
