KC- Recent Le Fou Frog Experiences? (Plus Bulldog notes)

Haven't been there for at least four or five years, and was wondering if anyone has been lately. Don't see it mentioned much on the board, but I'm looking to venture from my usual Lidia's/Bluestem rotation (since I've been involved in this KU weight loss study I'm doing, my non-diet related meals are too precious to leave much to chance!!).

On a side note, I've been going to that new place called Bulldog down on 17th and Main. As far as food, I've only sampled their calamari and fried brie, which are both pretty good. Their specialties are their classic cocktails (which at 6 bucks are exceptional), like Sidecars, Old Fashioneds, El Dorado Punch, Horse Thief Cocktails, etc. Really good bartenders who build a nice drink, and truly enjoy making something other than a bottle of Bud Light. I've had good luck there and recommend it. Dim decor, dark woods, Frank Lloyd Wright style light fixtures, pretty nice inside. The only word of warning would be to non-smokers. It's extremely, extremely cigar friendly, and while the back bar is the "cigar lounge", the bar side of the front room is open territory for all tobacco. Personally, I'm a big-time cigar guy, so I relish having a stylish, friendly place that caters to smokers. However, I can see why it would be a turn-off for many. If you like Harry's Tables, this is the perfect replacement (IMHO), because even on Saturday nights it doesn't get overly crowded or loud. Harry's has become a nightmare on weekends in the past few years. Great place for Scotch and a smoke, but too much drunken drama in that intersection on weekends.
