OK. Thanks to an earlier post here and some detective work, I've found Mr. Kawasaki, late sous-chef of shibutani years back at the Mitsuwa/Yaohan Shibucho, and head chef at Tsukasa and Kawacho.
He is now working at Yamakasa at Franklin and Highland, NE corner in strip mall. sat at the bar, his omakase, pretty good. The prices are lower, and he fights for the best fish he can get given the price the owners will charge, but it is quite good. He still makes the signature lobster salad hand roll. I was quite pleased. So now we know.

(unfortunately) the restaurant serves other food besides sushi so he's not the sole star here. And he's not there everyday - call if you want him to see what his schedule is.
