Kate Mantilini's Friday Special: Veal Milanesa

Yeah, I know all grudges raised in this board against KM: too funky, too schmunky, too expensive.
And I'm not denying.
All I'm saying is: have you ever tried their Friday Special Veal Milanesa ($36)?
Huge (covers the entire plate) slice of perfectly breaded veal on a bed of purée and tomato sauce (both home made). No greasy residues, crisply battered, portion of poor dead veal's breaded rib bone, what else can I tell you? They don't make them any better in Lombardia. Tears come to my eyes...
As antipasti, 1/2 dz decent oysters for yours truly ($15), very good olive salad ($7.95) for her .
Pathetic wine list, BYOB _& Stems_, all for a civilized $10 corkage (The 1997 Chambolle-Musigny from Perrot Minot turned out to be a perfect match for that marvelous veal shtick).
Their dessert forte is the cobbler, but we had the chocolate cake instead, not too bad ($8.50).
Final bill, w/tax before tip: $130
Worth every penny
