Went to kasadela last night, thought it was going to be like this place I went to in Vancouver called Guu(which is amazing if you are ever over there). Unfortunately it fell somewhat short of the mark. We had the black edamame and the shishito peppers first. Oddly enough the black edamame were green, but the shishito peppers were excellent. We then had the brolied miso cod, tempura rock shrimp with spicy mayonnaise, a yakitori type chicken, an oven roated chicken, the seaweed and eel salad, the salmon tartar, and the chicken kara-age--essentially a fried chicken dish. Of these dishes the ones that hit the mark were the tempura rock shrimp, the eel salad, and the salmon tartar. However the portions of salmon tartar was ridiculous, essentially about two tablespoons in the middle of a plate of fried sweet potato chips. That dish would have easuly been the best with a more generous portion. The eel and seaweed salad was excellent as well, but suffered the same flaw, though not to the same degree.
The dish which totally missed was the broiled miso cod, which was severely overcooked and dried out, almost blackened, with a bitter aftertaste.
One upside was the excellent sake that they served us, don't remember the name, but they helpful in guiding you thorugh the selection
Overall, was a mixed bag, but would only return if dish size increased to the point that they were more conducive to sharing.
