Thank you chowhounders for a few extraordinary meals. We had requested recommendations for places to go while taking Jr. Foodie to his orientation at Drexel.

Sunday night we enjoyed Kanella's new sunday pre fixe dinner. Both carniverous and vegetarian options are available. Both options start with hummos and bread followed by a good salad combining elements of both American style and Village Greek salads - home made feta, red onions, cucumbers, radishes, olives ripe tomatoes in a light Greek-style vinagrette over fresh greens. As requested, bell peppers were left out as one of our party is allergic.

The next course included eggplant and tomatos, marinated artichoke hearts, mushrooms and olives. The main course for meat eaters included meat balls, a grilled rare lamb tenderloin and an outstanding hare salad. The veggies had a huge bowl of bulgar with parsley and onions, kale and spanikopita. The first two were outrageously good. The spanikopita was a bit soggy, but otherwise tasty. We were much too full for dessert, but the fresh made options looked really interesting.

The fabulous service complimented the fabulous food. This was an especial delight as Kanella has only been open on Sunday for 3 weeks.

White Dog Cafe made remarkable efforts to be handicap accessible. Although housed in a group of town houses at least 100 years old, we were let in through the back on a home made ramp, and a downstairs "doggy den" was opened for us. The room was warm with candlight with pictures of all nature of white dogs on the walls. I had a marinated grilled pork chop with sauteed fresh spinach. Hubby had s lamb bolognese with fresh basil and ricotta with shaved parmesean and rigatoni. Again, requests for adjustments related to a special diet were made cheerfully. Service was also outstanding.
