'Kandahar Kabab' - Surprisingly enjoyable lunch

Charles Yu | Nov 11, 2016 10:48 AM

In search of a place for lunch whilst waiting for my car to have its winter tires changed, I walked past Kandahar Kabab on Markham road just south of Finch. Though never a fan of Persian style Kebabs, I do enjoy the Turkish versions once in a while. Taking a browse at their menu and finding it offers a version that resembles a combination of both styles, I decided to give the place a try. To my surprise, the ' Sultani 'Kababs ( minced beef and veal morsel skewer ) were nicely seasoned, charred, juicy, tender and moist. Pretty delicious. The long grain rice also deliciously seasoned with a touch of mildly hot spices. Portions were quite generous for the price ($13 ). As for the place, it was clean, modern and very spacious. Overall, an enjoyable experience.....should be better than the MacDonald's next door! Ha!
