There have been many positive mentions of Kali's Court here, so when our daughter said that's where she wanted her birthday dinner, we made reservations for last night. We arrived a few minutes early, as we usually do, and were asked if we wanted to have a drink at the bar or go directly to our table. We opted for the table and were led to one directly across from the bar. When I noticed ashtrays on the bar, I protested and we were then taken upstairs, through a fairly noisy and crowded room to another quieter room. The food was very good but not extraordinary; the service was a bit pretentious and included some long gaps, like between the arrival of various drinks. If someone left the table, the napkin was refolded and put back. When my husband opened the wine list, he was immediately offered "help" in making a selection, before he even had a chance to start reading, which was difficult because it was so dark. I never quite read the entire menu because of that. On the whole it was a pleasant experience but not outstanding enough to repeat.
