Kajitsu, Benihana, gingerbread house display at Le Parker Meridien

1. I had dinner at Kajitsu last night and it was great as usual. I particularly liked the dish depicting a seasonal theme, consisting of: potage of white satsuma potato (left), leek tempura with radish rose, truffle, and lemon powder (middle), and yuba, white shimeji mushrooms and lotus root with cauliflower puree. Visually perfect, and tasted great too.

2. It seems Benihana has finally reopened. (Not that I am thrilled about it)

3. Le Parker Meridien NewYork on 56th Street is displaying various gingerbread houses, and one of them contributed by Tribeca Treats, called "Occupy Northpole" is hilarious. These "Northpole" elves say "Hire American Reindeer", "Elves Need Vacation Too!"
