Kabuto: "Kishikasei"

chowhoundX | Sep 13, 200301:28 PM

As has been posted before, the "new" Kabuto opened around Aug 18 directly across the street from the old Kabuto. I hadn't been following the discussion and just went to old Kabuto. Seeing it closed down I was disappointed until my friend pointed across the street. Cool!

The cuisine seems pretty much the same, though I miss those big menu boards -- it wasn't as fun ordering from the paper menus. Maybe the boards will come back later.

Above the counter there are four Chinese characters which in Japanese are pronounced "kishikaisei." It means rebirth after a seemingly hopeless situation.
